Reports are emerging of a huge fire at an abandoned bus depot in Stratford, East London, England. A vast, black plume of smoke, visible from as far afield as Fulham and Shepherds Bush in the West of the city. According to London Fire Brigade no fewer than six fire appliances are in attendance of the fire, which is reported to be on an industrial estate in Waterden Road, inside the 2012 Olympic Park site and within a few miles of City Airport in Newham.
Early speculation suggests that the fire may be focused around a fuel storage tank, based on the colour and nature of the smoke produced. London's Metropolitan Police have stated that the incident is currently being treated as 'just a fire', but the possibility of terrorist involvement is not being ruled out.
Eyewitness reports suggest that the fire began around half an hour ago and was not preceded by any explosion.
